Arts Award Bronze

Arts Award Bronze is a Level 1 award on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). To achieve Bronze, young people take part in an arts activity they enjoy, go to an arts event, research their arts inspiration and share their skills with others. Bronze is available to young people aged 11 to 25.

Young people need to plan their work with an Arts Award Adviser, and keep a record by creating their own Arts Award portfolio. Their portfolio can take any form such as a folder, sketchbook, video diary or a website.

The 4 key parts to Bronze are:

Take part in an arts activity: Young people choose any artform that interests them, from as diverse a range as sculpture, storytelling and music production and record their progress taking part.

Arts review: Young people record their views regarding a piece of art, collect programmes and other information and share their thoughts with others.

Arts inspiration: Young people choose an artist or craftsperson that inspires them and researches that person, recording the story of their work and life.

Arts skills share: Young people pass on their arts skills to others by helping to run a workshop, or by giving a demonstration and explanation of theirr skills.

Children & young people should require an estimated 60 hours of learning to complete the award, a mix of guided and independent work.
