Originally created to support families completing Arts Award Discover at Home Award, we commissioned talented local artists to create a series of fun, accessible and interactive videos which explore a whole range of different art forms and exciting creative ideas. The activities have been inspired by the environment, nature and to enhance emotional wellbeing. Many also celebrate the rich, cultural diversity of our region.
These videos are a perfect way to introduce different art forms to children and young people and inspire them in any setting. They’re great for ages 5-11 years and are an excellent support for Arts Award Discover level. Each video is accompanied by written instructions which you can download to help you work through the activity. Children and parents at home can also complete an Arts Award Discover Logbook and receive an Arts Award Discover Certificate for a fee of £5.
Join Tricia from Swirl Education in the video below as she transports us to a Carnival in Trinidad and teaches us two very exciting moves – Jump up and Wave!
Scroll down to view our library of activity videos, each categorised by their art form.
We really hope you enjoy this collection!
