Enterprise Labs

In Enterprise Labs young people develop new ideas for businesses and social enterprises in school. Following creativity training, encounters with employer experts and an idea development process they present their ideas at an investment pitch event.
Industry experts select the most viable business or social enterprise idea/s. The winning group is supported to establish and run the business or social enterprise in school. Enterprise Labs develop the possibility mindset and metacognition.

Pupils are supported to become effective, independent entrepreneurs, giving them new creativity skills & behaviours that:

  • Develop Business Knowledge

  • Conducting Market research

  • Creating and managing a budget

  • Attracting and persuading investors

  • Seeing opportunities and making them happen

  • Profit making initiatives for their school

  • Assimilating key points and being decisive with need-related actions

  • Confidence when pitching ideas

  • Develop resilience, confidence, team-work skills, leadership & the ability to innovate.

We have successfully run this model in association with the University of Bradford. An adapted model is available for both Primary and Secondary students and would be especially beneficial for Business Studies students. Follow this link to read more about how University of Bradford BREE funded the Enterprise Applied Creativity Labs.

"As someone who’s founded a social enterprise myself, I couldn’t be prouder of the way these pupils stepped up. Honestly, I don't think I would have had the courage to do what they did at their age!"
