For schools and education settings

Many schools think about applying for grants; some even get as far as doing so!

Applying for grant funding is often put on the ‘one day but not now’ list instead of the ‘I’m going to do it today’ list.

These sessions are designed for anyone who has wondered whether their school could be eligible for grant funding for musical instruments, specialist artists, ICT equipment to enhance digital media or even funding to take students to a gallery, a show or performance.

Join Lisa Jagger to explore current grant funding sources you might not know about – yet! Lisa is a small grants specialist with over twenty years of experience preparing funding applications. She has helped dozens of schools, community groups, sports clubs and charities generate grant funding.

These sessions will investigate:

Topics:

Session one – Wednesday 12 October, 4 – 6pm

Funding Sources for Arts, Culture and Creativity in Schools that you need to know about

This session will introduce you to the top 10 funders that fund arts and creative activities within schools. You will receive an overview of their priorities, what they are likely to fund, and what you will need to include in your application.

Session two – Wednesday 2 November, 4 – 6pm

Preparation and Mobilising your School Community

This session will explain how working in partnership with other key people, organisations and leaders can help you access funding for your school. Including how to get the most out of a PTA/Friends Of group, and some simple systems that make working in partnership a little bit easier.

Session three – Wednesday 16 November, 4 – 6pm

Communicating the Impact of Creative Work in Schools

The final session concentrates on ‘the difference you make’ and how to really get that across to future funders – and make life easier when reporting back to previous funders.

A truly interactive session, with a process to help you ‘get stuff done’, not just learning the theory!

Suitable for: School teachers, headteachers and creative & cultural practitioners who work with schools in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
