SCALE Final Project Launch

IVE and The Opportunity Centre are co-hosting an event in Bradford on 21st March 2023 from 11am -1pm to formally launch the SCALE project – Scaling Up Applied Creativity Labs across Europe. The SCALE online learning platform will enable teachers anywhere in the world to deliver Applied Creativity Labs (ACLs) with their students to help them find new solutions to real-world climate change issues.

Professor Simon James, Dept of English Studies at Durham University and Trustee of IVE, will be delivering a short keynote speech on Creativity and Education after which the key outputs of the project will be shared – including a Competency Framework for Teaching for Creativity and Learning Creativity; a Best Practice Guide for delivering Applied Creativity Labs and a MOOC – a free online learning platform including 20 hours of study for teachers to fully immerse themselves in creativity theory and Applied Creativity Lab practise.

The event will take place at The Opportunity Centre’s HQ in Bradford (21-27 Cheapside, BD1 4HR) and a wonderful lunch will be provided! Guests will include those who attended our Stakeholder Consultation Meetings, teachers involved in ACLs, industry experts who have been on Applied Creativity Lab panels, and other teaching and IVE staff.

It would be so lovely to see you there to celebrate the completion of this 3 year programme which truly puts Applied Creativity Labs out there on the international creativity and environmental education map to enable young people to develop creative problem-solving skills and find new solutions to environment related problems. Our Bulgarian partners are already delivering them regularly with youth groups and plan to continue to deliver them in future!
