Funny Business – Comedy, Confidence and Presentation Course

Do you think you’re funny? Ever fancied being a stand-up? Or would you just like the confidence of one? Our Funny Business training course will teach you the basics of stand-up comedy over 6 weeks, finishing in a live performance. Not only will you develop your delivery and material, but also your confidence, communication and presentation skills.

Don’t let this happen to you.

The Funny Business – Comedy, Confidence and Presentation skills training course is jointly delivered by IVE facilitators and details of professional stand-up. The course will take learners through a creative process that is geared towards equipping them with the knowledge and skills to be able to craft their own comedy material, present it to an audience and get big laughs as a result! This process will also help participants increase their confidence, improve communication skills and enhance their presentation abilities so, even if you don’t think you want to pursue a career in stand up, it has plenty of practical benefit for a wide variety of careers.

Why take a regular presentation workshop when you could master the same skills and have a laugh doing it?!

This course isn’t just for aspiring stand-ups, although you will learn all the basics needed such as how to write and structure material and maximise its impact in delivery. Instead, it’s for everyone who wants to improve their public speaking and presentation ability, whether that means increasing their confidence or refining their technique.

Participants on this course will:

  • Learn the basics of how to be a stand-up comedian.
  • Improve their communication skills.
  • Deliver more confident, memorable and engaging presentations.
  • Develop their self-confidence and confidence in presentations and public speaking.
  • Use comedy writing techniques to build appropriate humour into presentations.
  • Master time-tested stand-up comic tips to beat nerves.
  • Make people laugh!
