In these challenging times, we feel it is important to provide support to parents, carers and children to enable them to continue to experience arts and culture from home. Arts Award Discover at Home is a project for families with children aged 5- 11 years, where they can complete exciting, engaging and easy creative activities at home and get an Arts Award Discover certificate.
Arts Award Discover at Home provides an opportunity to learn more about the arts, get excited about arts and culture, have a go at being creative and best of all, celebrate their creative achievements! Children can even earn an Arts Award Discover Certificate. With easy to follow guidance and lots of suggestions for arts, craft and creative activities, Discover at Home is perfect for parents and carers who may not be arts specialists themselves and are looking for something different to keep children entertained.
We are delighted to announce that for the first 50 Discover at Home logbooks we receive from children living in Yorkshire and the Humber*, each child will receive their Arts Award Discover certificate at no cost plus, a free arts & crafts goody bag to celebrate their fantastic achievement!
In order to help families get started, we have 22 fun, accessible and interactive videos which explore a whole range of different art forms and creative ideas. The videos have been designed for parents and carers to complete with children (aged 5-11 years) and there are also written instructions you can download to help you work through each one.
All the videos have been created by talented local artists, are inspired by the environment and the outdoors, and have been designed to enhance emotional wellbeing.

As part of their Discover at Home journey, children complete all three parts of the Discover at Home logbook to record what they’ve done, enjoyed and learned. There is no time limit to completing this! Begin by looking through the logbook with your child and talk about the different parts they need to complete with your help – this is a good opportunity to ask them what kind of art forms they are interested in exploring and what they’d like to find out more about.

Join us for a chat with us and other parents and carers in our free online drop-in session on Mon 15 Feb at 11am. Click here to book your free place.
If your child has completed all three parts of their Discover at Home logbook, congratulations on their arts achievement! We hope children will have a lot of fun completing them and you’ll have enjoyed the process in supporting them.
Once the logbook is complete and if you would like your child to receive their own Discover at Home certificate, simply email the finished version to us at isabelle@weareive.org for moderation.
Following moderation, all Discover at Home certificates will be issued and processed by Trinity College London at a cost of £5 per certificate.
