We are delighted to share the news that our Head of Enterprise and Skills, Chris Strong, won an Oculus VR Headset at last month’s Buy Yorkshire Conference.
The headset, the first of it’s kind in the UK, lets the user watch a wide range of videos, play games and interact in a new and innovative way via their Samsung mobile phone.
David Lees from ABS said ‘we’re really pleased that the headset has been won by a charity and we are delighted that it will be used on exciting innovative programmes for young people across Yorkshire.’
We will indeed use the Headset, and the variety of opportunities it presents, in our work which supports young people from the most disadvantaged backgrounds. It will help us in our quest to unlock and nurture creativity so that young people, regardless of background, can follow their dreams and fulfill extraordinary potential in education, training or employment.
IVE’s Chris Strong said ‘we’ve already got an identified use for this – one of our most recently designed programmes is about re-imagining the built heritage environment and what this could look like now and in the future.’
