Artworks, the Everybody School of Art, champions the value of art and creativity in everyday life. We think that opportunity and engagement with art can make things better for everyone and should be available to all. Our time, space and resources are dedicated to supporting artistic development and community imagination, as such we are home to a thriving creative community with studios, gallery and teaching spaces where everyone is welcome. Our work also takes place out in the community at schools and community venues, online and in people’s homes. Artworks is a community interest company so we don’t work for profit. The income we generate is used to support the communities we are established to serve.
Artworks runs a thriving art and design programme for all ages: early years, primary and secondary schools, as well as FE settings. We deliver sessions in schools across the country, online via Zoom and on site from our grade II listed ex industrial textile mill on the outskirts of Halifax. Our combination of art studios, gallery and teaching spaces mean that there’s always something different to see, while working with a variety of specialist Artist Educators means that we can provide workshops and training across an always expanding range of media and techniques.
We deliver arts-focused workshops, class visits to our studios and gallery, CPD sessions and training, online Teach Meets, curriculum consultations, longer-term projects, creation of school displays and resources. Our team of Artist Educators will work closely with staff and students to inspire and support your needs: we are here to support you and help you to get the most out of your art curriculum.
All our provision is tailored to suit the specific needs of the schools we work with. Whether you are looking to inspire your students, support their personal progression, involve them in whole school or community projects, or simply to give them an enjoyable day out, we will work with you to develop innovative and engaging workshops and projects.
