Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival

hcmf// is an annual, international festival of contemporary and new music, taking place over 10 days and consisting of approximately 50 events – including concerts, music-theatre, dance, multi-media, talks and film – with a related Learning & Participation programme devised and implemented to reflect the artistic programme and respond to regional need.

The hcmf// festival programme

This runs every year in November and we welcome visits from schools, please get in touch for support and suggestions for which events would be suitable to attend.

Year-round opportunities

Our year-round programme involves a range of activities, the best way to find out about our work is by signing up for our newsletter here: https://hcmf.co.uk/about-us/

We can offer podcasting and sound editing workshops to any age group, just get in touch to discuss your needs.

In 2023 we will be releasing a video series of music lessons aimed at early years and are looking for partners to test the programme out. If this sounds interesting to you, please get in touch.

Generally, we are really interested in hearing from schools about where we can support your music related work. We have a large database of freelance practitioners who we can call upon so if you have any ideas you’d like to discuss please just get in touch with us.

Find out how you can get involved by contacting our Learning & Participation Officer, Sophie Cooper, at s.cooper@hud.ac.uk.
