Museums Sheffield

Museums Sheffield is the charity responsible for three of the city’s museums and galleries: Millennium Gallery, Weston Park Museum and Graves Gallery. Using real objects and being immersed in art can really help to enhance your pupil’s learning and give them an experience they will remember for years.

Summer 2020! Museums from Home Over the summer holidays join Museums Sheffield for regular creative ideas and activities for families inspired by the city’s museum collections https://museums-sheffield.org.uk/families-at-home

Learning is at the heart of Museums Sheffield. We believe the city’s collections of art, natural science and human history can set imaginations soaring, help us find our place in the world and inspire a lifelong curiosity.    The city’s museums, along with the art and objects they are home to, belong to everyone. As a charity, we strive to ensure great art and heritage is available to everyone, every day.

We bring the objects in the city’s collections to life through the remarkable stories behind them. Our learning sessions span topics as diverse as fossils and Anglo-Saxon life to metalwork design and contemporary art. As well as teaching practical creative skills, including drawing, printing and clay work, our sessions encourage participants to question and find inspiration in the world around them.

Our workshops and activities take place in the galleries and learning spaces. As well as facilitating workshops and visits, our team is experienced in delivering projects with schools where the learning and creativity are collaborative activities. We believe that the most memorable and rewarding experiences are the ones we share together.
