Music In The Round

Music in the Round is proud to support Artsmark, Arts Council England’s creative quality standard for schools.

Music in the Round is the leading national promoter of chamber music. Our events are characterised by passion, excellence and proximity, connecting people to each other through being close to the music. A core component of our work is to provide young people with inspiring, music-making opportunities, developing engagement and passion for music. Our resident group, Ensemble 360, comprises 11 world-class artists who are at the heart of our programme, delivering high quality music in a variety of settings to people of all ages and levels of ability.

As an Artsmark Partner, we support can offer activity to schools working towards Artsmark, as well as those that currently hold Artsmark status. We present a wide-ranging programme of work, providing progression opportunities for children and staff involved, including:

  • A musical story project for Early Years and Key Stage 1, featuring a fun, informal, interactive live music concert; in-depth practitioner CPD; resources linking to all aspects of the curriculum and EYFS
  • A variety of CPD opportunities developing practitioner confidence in using music to support aspects of the EYFS and National Curriculum
  • Opportunities for children to experience high-quality chamber music and interact with world-class musicians.
  • Opportunities that empower secondary schools to approach composition with confidence, flair & creativity. Activity will provide enhanced educational & progression opportunities, developing skills of both staff and students.
