The North Lincolnshire Music Hub (NLMEH) is a wide range of music and education organisations working in partnership to provide high quality music education for the children and young people of North Lincolnshire.
NLMH aims to develop greater access to music education, improve the quality of music education and support progression routes for young people in North Lincolnshire.
By working together our goal is to ensure that every child aged 5 – 18 has the opportunity to sing and learn a musical instrument, and to perform as part of an ensemble or choir, as well as ensure there are pathways for young people to develop their talent through a range of opportunities locally, regionally and nationally
The Music Support Service is the main delivery partner within the Hub, and offers a wide range of whole class instrumental music tuition, one to one and small group instrumental and singing tuition, support with curriculum teaching and after school activities. It also runs the North Lincolnshire Music Centre which offers a broad range of orchestral and band experiences ensembles alongside other open access music groups. The Hub has a strong singing offer: opportunities exist for all children from 18 months through to 18 years to take part in various singing ensembles and activities on either a weekly or termly basis, provided by the Music Service and a range of voluntary sector groups, such as the award winning Scunthorpe Co-op Junior Choir, Scunthorpe and District Choral Society and others. The Music Centre’s extended offer provides sessions for younger children and their parents; for children who have educational needs and/or disabilities by working with Scunthorpe Action Centre providing music sessions for young children with a range of disabilities too. Joint work with local Arts development ensures opportunities are offered for young people to participate in many other exciting arts activities
