ROAR

ROAR is a membership organisation offering bespoke professional development for creative practitioners from our base in the centre of Rotherham. We also contribute to the local and regional strategic development of the cultural sector.

We have a diverse membership of over 100 artists including writers, musicians, theatre makers, dancers and the visual arts in its widest sense. We offer a range of regular sessions from digital support to life drawing, as well as 1:1 appointments where assistance can be more targeted.

Facilities we offer include independent studios, a drama/rehearsal space, a small art gallery and a resource room which as a flexible space accommodates some of resources, such as the pottery studio and laser cutter.

Through our community partners we help deliver a broad range of festivals, events, workshops and support the recruitment and commissioning of artists with socially engaged practice, as well as developing the skills of our interested members. This enables us to offer work experience and placements for older students.

As a National Portfolio Organisation we have a full suite of Policies including Safeguarding procedures, with a commitment to operating inclusively.
