We wish to appoint a new Chair of Imagine Rotherham for an initial term of three years, commencing in March 2021.
Imagine Rotherham (the Rotherham Cultural Education Partnership) was established in early 2016 following the launch of the Cultural Education Challenge by Arts Council England. Since then, a broad partnership of schools, colleges and universities, artists, cultural and voluntary organisations, along with the local authority has worked to develop and implement an action plan.
Key achievements have been the contribution to the development of the Cultural Strategy, enshrining young people’s voices at its heart. This has included the creation of 2 game-changers, specifically Turning Passion into a Profession and the ambition to become the world’s first Children’s Capital of Culture in 2025. In addition, the group has successfully ensured that 39% of Rotherham schools are now participating in Artsmark.
We are now looking for an experienced Independent Chair who can join us on the journey of taking the CEP to the next level. This person will work with the existing Steering Group and the wider Partnership, and with additional stakeholders as required. We want you to work with us to achieve the ambitious objectives we have set out for the CEP.
The successful candidate will have strong relationship-building abilities, be an effective supporter of cross-sector collaboration, and be an articulate and persuasive advocate. A demonstrable commitment to cultural education, and experience of chairing meetings, are essential qualities. Experience of working in the education or cultural sector is desirable but not required.
